In an amazing tribute to the late Moishe Rosen, his daughter Ruth tells a heartwarming account of the man who founded the organization known today as Jews for Jesus.
After reading Called to Controversy: The Unlikely Story of Moishe Rosen and the Founding of Jews for Jesus, it really gave me more insight to the similarities and differences between Christianity and Judaism. The fact that this was told almost in a biographical way only made it more real and meaningful.
Moishe Rosen's story was fascinating, from the aspects of his childhood to the day he found himself as an evangelist. His impact and legacy on the worlds of both religions is astounding. Ruth does a great job of imparting his story, and it's noteworthy that she doesn't make him out to be a saint but includes some of his faults as well.
I also loved that each chapter started off with one of Moishe's quotes, very inspirational stuff, including:
There is no such thing as a hopeless situation; it seems insoluble because people have grown weary of trying.'
The quality of your life is shaped by what you really believe, not just waht you say you believe.
The right enemies help more than the wrong friends.
All colors look bright hen there is enough light.
Overall, a very enjoyable read about the life and times of a true visionary. 5/5
